Patient can make appointments either by telephone, Online or in person.
You will be allocated a 10 minute slot and it is one patient per appointment. If you have more than one problem the Dr may only be able to deal with the most immediate problem within the allocated time, therefore do not be offended if he asks you to book another appointment to deal with any additional problems.
We cannot give more than two appointment slots per family at any one time with Doctor.
If you are unable to attend your appointment please let us know in reasonable time so that we can offer it to someone else.
Urgent Appointments
Should you require an urgent appointment please contact the surgery as soon as possible. Please state immediately if it is urgent. These appointments are only for patients with minor injuries and illnesses who should be seen within the hour. They are not for repeat prescriptions, on-going appointments or sick notes.
Telephone Advice
During surgery the doctor has set aside time to deal with enquiries over the telephone. We will ask you to leave your contact number and enquiry in order for the doctor to call you back during the surgery hours. A triage system is in place and you may be asked to speak to the practice nurse first.
Cancelled Appointments
It is important that you inform the reception staff if you you are unable to attend your appointment, this will allow that appointment to be offered to another patient.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
Lateness
Please attend your appointment on time , if you are late you may be asked to rebook for another day.
If DR is running late it is generally because he has had to deal with an emergency or because patients have more complex problems which are taking longer than the allotted 10 mins so please be patient and the reception staff will try and keep you updated wherever possible.
Please note appointment times may vary during illness and holidays.
Interpreter
If you require an interpreter to attend with you when you see your Doctor please notify the receptionist and this will be arranged.
Private Medical Examinations
Medical examinations for special purposes such as pre-employment, fitness to travel, elderly drivers, fitness to undertake sports etc, will require longer than a routine appointment.
These examinations do not form part of NHS Services, you will be charged for any such examination. Please check the fee chargeable when you require to arrange any such examination.
